Our Redneck Vacation

Wimberley, Texas

We do this every year with neighbors
and new and old friends.
This summer we
had an especially big group.
Great food...
Great music...
Great company...
14 Adults...
18 Kids...
and not nearly enough alcohol...

Orange juice and vodka...yaaaay me!

I'm pretty sure that beat up cowboy hats are required on the river.
This was its 4th year.
Sadly, it didn't make it through the chutes.
RIP cheesy, white trash cowboy hat.

The grandboy, Carter.
He was so tired afterwards...
in zombie mode.

There's a rope swing where the kids spent the
majority of their time.

This kiddo isn't mine.  Thank God.
I would've been having a mild heart attack.
I'm pretty sure that my kids did this too but
I'm going to pretend that they stayed by the
water's edge...wearing their floaties.

These little beasts DO belong to me.
Where are their floaties?!?!

We had a great usual.
It did rain the majority of the week but we've always
had good weather so it's hard to complain
too much.
Good times...good times...

A Great Way To End January

I met two of my most favorite people in the entire world
in McKinney yesterday.
A good burger was had by all...

And don't EVEN get me started on the sweet potato fries.
Holy Cow...

P.S.  I love my girls...

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension aka PAH Sucks!!!!!

Blue Lips
Chest Pains
That's Me!!!!

And it's no fun.

What IS fun though?
Being doped up on loopy medicine
and having no recollection of taking pictures of yourself.
Pretty sure this was the last time I smiled before the heart cath.
Because it HURT!!!!!

Speedo Love

My son went to Brazil over the holidays with my brother and his family.
Out of the hundreds of pictures that came home with him this is my absolute favorite.
God, those Brazilians love their Speedos.

I want to blow it up and hang it over my fireplace.

Of course, I HAD to crop it. The little old guy in the middle is Capt. Morgan meets
The Most Interesting Man in the World.

Happy New Year!!!!!

I was determined not to go out on New Year's Eve.

David had to work...

Jake didn't want to do anything...

Sam is still in Brazil...

I wanted to be boring.

Then my friend came by....

We ended up at the movies and then desperately

trying to find something to eat.

Soooo...we ended up ringin' in the new year over fried pickles at Razoo's.

Can't beat that with a stick.

P.S. I forgot my camera so this is as good as it gets.

I'm so excited!
It's finally my week to be the one and only guest blogger for my sweet and special friend, Laura, from Rhinestone Armadillo.
So here goes...

Hello All!!!!!
It's the SOA. You know what that means. Yes! Sit down and watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding for the 52nd time and finish up that laundry! Woooo Hoooo!!!

*crickets chirping*

Okay! Plan B.

~~Plant new things~~
My new obesession? Succulents. Succulents, also known as fat plants, are water-retaining plants adapted to blah blah blah... All I know is that even I can't kill them. Give them the right amount of light, water every couple of days and taa daa.

They are the craziest little beings and some of their names are even better.
Fairy Washboard, Hens and Chicks, String of Pearls and Living Rocks...just to name a few.

I know it's like 142 degrees outside but hop to it.
Grab and BIG bottle of water and go outside.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding will always be there.

At the very least, on Saturday morning, go sit on the porch and watch the guys mow your yard.
Or maybe that's just me.

I had to stick this picture in.
I took it during one of my Not So Summer's of Awesomeness when I was completely bored. Yes. I resorted to playing with dead bugs.
It was a cry for help.
